music: Kaze no Kirin - Takahashi Hitomi
| You are Delita You scored -18 good or evil, 3 spirituality, -2 power, and 20 intelligence! |
| So the scorned knight is you... Delita Hyral lost his sister, but bounced back as a "Double Agent" spying on the church on behalf of Zeltennia's Nanten (specifically, the Black Sheep Knights he now commands). Even so, like your buddy Ramza, you fight constantly to surpass the rest and cover your weaknesses. Believing power is everything, you'll resort to a few dirty tricks to accede to the throne. But behind that heavy-handed style, good intentions remain, even if the results spell disaster. You're quite crafty, and while you show little mercy in your brand of justice, it remains just in the "Old Testament" style (which befits your need of anger management courses). Delita can be quite evil, shrewd and spirited, regarded generally as a misunderstood genius and receiving much jealousy for it. Watch what you say to others, since you can't hold out forever on your own power. Others like you consist of "Kain" and "Golbez" from Final Fantasy IV. Your polar opposite is Barret. You'll probably get along with Sephiroth, and you could tolerate Yuna or Bahamut. |

music: Broken Wings - Tomoko Tane

Meph does not like what Square-Enix is doing to RDM gear. T-T
Anyway...!
School break! Wheeeeeeeeeee~ 2 months of schedule-free FFXI, and more importantly, finally an escape from the clutches of the evil math teacher whose name is so vile I would rather not mention it on this LJ entry.
Despite their incompetency in general, Square-Enix has made one major improvement to the claim system a few months ago that enabled NAs to even stand a chance against JP botters when camping NMs. This has led to a much higher frequency of us outclaiming the ebil JP alliance on Fafdhogg camps, which is obviously good for us and bad for them. But since JP alliance is the biggest congregation of asshats in the game, I'm not all too concerned with their wellbeing.
Our most recent Nidhogg, ironically, was not claimed by us, but by a new JP/NA shell formed by Pharanx for the sole purpose of camping and killing wyrms. It was probably due to inexperience, but they wiped pretty soon after claim, taking the entire DA pit along with them by triggering Spike Flail. A series of screams, chainspell-raises and Agrises-running-around-like-headless-Tar
In addition, Vrtra kill. Manteel for Crosis. Tiamat kill. Gaiters for Flipmixer. Wyrm Horns and Noritsune Kote for bling.

I haven't updated much in the past week thanks to this really cool activity known as the exams. Anyway, they're done for now so I'll go into some details regarding a few 1337 developments within the LS.

music: Shukufuku - Okazaki Ritsuko

MPK of the day belongs to a certain gimpy Shinjii character who decided to train a group of spiders while we were fighting Nidhogg (yes we claimed Nidhogg, z0mg). I have a few theories as to who the culprit LS is, but for the sake of my own credibility I shall refrain from announcing it on the internet. Kudos to our MPK prevention team for their fast reactions and Herald's Gaiters; we managed to keep the situation under the control and proceeded to finish off Nidhogg in about 30 minutes. Drops were wyrm beard that went to ... someone somewhere and aquarian abjuration: body that went to ... me. 4tw :D
After Nidhogg I was late for school but from what I was told, we killed Tiamat, amidst a great deal of bitching from Maseki and gang. Drops were ... Wyrm Horn onry. Meh. Someone buy these from us already! :(

Cutaru ain't it? '-'

Ouryu Overwhelmed!
Today marks our complete dominance over the CoP wyrms as we defeated Ouryu in Riverne Site #A01. We went into the zone with a total of 3 Cloud Evokers. I would firstly like the say that the rate at which Ouryu attacks puts even Byakko to shame. Being unslowable, unelegy'able and unstunnable, it can really rip through tanks like paper, particularly during Terror-ga or Breakga. Without revealing too many LS strategies, I just want to say that Ouryu is a completely different fight from the other wyrms. On the first try, we were unable to deal enough damage within the 1-hour BC time limit and exited the battlefield with Ouryu at 17%. Our second try saw a flail within the first 30 seconds of pulling, which resulted in a wipe and consequently wasted evoker. Unfortunately, I had school soon after the conclusion of the second run so I was unable to be part of the domination. However, I'm still quite elated at the fact that we managed to overcome all odds and triumph over this evil in the face of dangers or whatever. Anyway, grats to Akineton on the Tutelary and ... Masa on the Imanotsurugi.
(note: drops screenshot shamelessly stolen from the big kills picture Alm uploaded onto BG website)
(note #2: some people complained about my screenshots being too dark, so I switched over to using Fraps instead of the Windower printscreen function)

Vrtra readies Spike Flail ...

Behold my greatest achievement to date as a stunner. This weekend saw our luckiest wyrm fight ever. 2 flails, 2 stuns. Meph (I think? Maybe Metix) got the first and I the second. Fight went a little slower this time due to a lack of SMN attendance. 2-hour fight ended with a clean finish for once. No Reviler's Helm yet again, making us 0/4 on that particular piece of headgear. Oh well, I'm not in any hurry to see Alm or Masa wearing Demon Helm ripoffs. Drops include Cashmere (100% drop so I don't know why I'm even mentioning it) which went to Cerescole. Tarutarulations! Another Wyrm Horn, bringing our total stock of Dragon Harnesses to six assuming none of the syntheses break. Very annoying because we can't seem to sell these fast enough. ;3
On another note, Wingcat's LS killed Jormungand, so quite coincidentally all 3 wyrms are now dead on Quetz, 4tw.
Sorry NH, we vanquished your last hopes of practicing on a wyrm this week. Please forgive us. ;;

"Whinewhinewhine Kaizen took Tiamat after we CFH'ed on it and the wyrm regens to 100%, it's our responsibility but we're bitter about it so we're gonna accuse them of stealing. Whinewhinewhine we should be given more tries, even though it's late at night and Tiamat's a competitive HNM. Whinewhinewhine."
Go learn how to kill Tiamat and stop trying to defame other LSes on public flameboards kthx.
Anyway, grats to Justie on Gaiters and Mattimer on Kote. '-'v

Welcome back Mephtaru!
As part of Meph's re-initiation, we decide to pick up the jobs we left off when he last quit the game (BRD for him, DRK for me) and exp for a little. We sadly had the misfortune of running into one of the most incompetent NINs I've ever seen in the game. I ended up co-tanking with the SAM for the majority of the party. It was pretty fortunate that we were fighting Yuhtunga Mandragoras, so it worked out pretty okay. We started off at lv25, ended at 27. Quite decent for a few hours work.
Went to sleep at 11pm, woke up at 2am to camp Fafdhogg. I was still drowsy when the first window came. All of a sudden Alm claimed Nidhogg. That kinda woke me up instantly. Jamal voked Darters when Nidhogg was at 90% so that served as a nice little distraction. Fortunately we managed to sleep Nidhogg then systematically picked the Darters off with minimal casualties (Meast died twice I think, but whatever, no one cares about him :P). Fight lasted about 30 minutes. Drops are as follows:

Grats to Harb on his Hecatomb Subligars, but wow, I hate this game so much. The one time we happen to claim Nidhogg, it gives us this. /annoyed

music: Wolf's Rain: Cloud 9

I've been spending an increasing amount of time doing this ingame lately, especially on weekdays. There have been interesting discussions to participate in, but seeing as how no one ever changes his/her stand or opinions at the end of the day, I don't think anything productive will ever come out of them.
On another note, had 4 (maybe 5, can't remember) slices of bread for lunch, plus tuna and salmon or something - evidence of how the new canteen is a terrible failure in execution (take notes Prefects!).
Alm apparently got n.head while I was snoozing away in school, grats2u.

Limbus? Temenos? Apollyon?

Very interesting. Just one thing though. If Square-Enix decides to make this one as frustrating and boring as Dynamis, I might just decide to book a plane ticket over to Japan and toss something explosive into their offices.

Starting a Livejournal cause it seems to be the cool thing to do, also because I've been incredibly bored at home with nothing to do for hours on end. As anyone who knows me will attest, I'm a lazy person, so naturally I wouldn't be bothered with things like school work when I'm in the relaxing comforts of my home. FFXI is proving to be a difficult to maintain hobby, especially during weekdays when most of the LS would already be fast asleep when I log on. Very sad here, but nothing to be done. 1 more month till freedom (and Full Attack! on FFXI '-'b) wewt.
So yeah, about school life. Liverpool managed to get themselves totally owned by Chelsea in the EPL. Their only redeeming fact being the late Steven Gerrad goal. This obviously prompted a great deal of lamentation from the Liverpool fans and gloating from their Man U counterparts. Woo Han in particular seemed extraordinarily distraught at Liverpool's lost and has gone (temporarily I hope) insane. So um yeah, while they continue their sorrows and joys, I shall rejoice in the fact that van Persie came up with a stunning winner to keep Arsenal's title aspirations alive. Yay.
New canteen sucks. Period. I had to appease my insatiable hunger by strutting over to Max's boarding house and consuming cup noodles. Very undignified. 1 more month of hell to endure I guess. Sucks to be the sec 1-3s though.
Ingame-wise, last week was quite fruitful, netting the LS a total of 3 wyrm horns, pairs of gaiters and kote, cashmere, as well as a ridill or two. Dynamis went pretty ok, not many AF drops as usual. Devi finally managed to net himself a pair of Warrior's Cuisses so that's pretty good I guess. Justie got MNK or something, grats to her as well. Attestation run went ... pretty decent, especially considering we had no prior experience in it. Masa getting owned in about 3 seconds by popped Hydra Monks, Ninjas and Thieves was morbidly satisfying. We wiped on the first try, not knowing what to expect from the adds. Managed to win on the second despite Alm overestimating his ability to survive a train of 2 dozen dynamis mobs, consequently MPK'ing most of the BLMs. gg Alm.
Saturday Tiamat went very smooth, our cleanest fight yet (wasn't around for the Tuesday one so not much to comment there, but grats to Ingwetaru on his gaiters). The entire battle clocked at around 45 minutes with no deaths whatsoever (yes, I was in main alliance; yes, I was allowed to nuke at will; no, I didn't die, to the dismay of a great deal of people). Wyrm Horn and Behemoth Hide. Gimpy drops. Meh.
After Tiamat we decided to skip Fafnir for a little Vrtra action. In spite of us missing about 90% of our WHM population (I think the only full time WHM that was actually present was ... Phaz.) Thanks to the ever resourceful leadership of Kisada (yeah right) and a great deal of enthusiastic help from guest players, we managed to scrape together enough people for a genuine attempt. Fight started out with a Spike Flail, which was not at all optimistic. However, we managed to recover from it quite miraculously, took another 1.5 hours or so getting it to 1%, then took another Flail. Yay. Possessing great foresight and deciding not to be too cheap that day, I used a Reraise Hairpin at some point during the fight. Reraised after the flail and ES Thunder IV'ed for victory. "Xtereem defeats Vrtra". New sig all right!. Grats to Xan on his manteel assuming the materials don't break again. Another Wyrm Horn, which is proving to be quite an annoyance as we're getting them faster than we're selling. Not complaining too much though, gil is gil. 3 Vrtra wins, 3 flails. Let's work on our finishing please. -_- Nevertheless, great job everyone!
